Guidance please!

I have been informed I've had an image shortlisted for a competition, and they have asked me to supply a full res image. What they want is:

"Your file(s) must be saved in sRGB or Adobe RGB 1998 – 8 bit, 300 ppi
It must be an uncompressed tiff or a high res jpeg file – please upload the largest & best quality file size that you have
available, but please do not enlarge/interpolate the original file."

Now my image, according to the exif details, is a tiff, 300dpi, Bit depth of 24, Compressed Bits/Pixel of 4, Resolution unit 2. Does this tally up with their request for 8 bit, 300ppi? Or what do I need to change?

8 bits per colour (RGB) = 24bit, so that's OK.

DPI and PPI are generally used to mean the same thing (although they're not), so that's fine too.

It's odd that they don't specify a maximum size for the image. An uncompressed TIFF could easily be 50Mb - not the easiest thing to upload.

Am I the only one reading their request as a way of getting highres images for a shortlisted list of images?

Wonder if the t&c's were an image grab?

Good point. They certainly seem to be getting ready for publishing something, and if so you can be fairly confident that just by entering your rights have been evaporated.

It's this one - they produce a nice book around November time of the best images.
