My 450D keeps saying it's "busy" when I try and take a picture. It doesn't do it all the time, and will quite happily take a quick run of pictures. Most often it seems to happen at the end of a long shoot, but it has just done it now on a one off picture.
I have an 8GB speed 6 SD card which is not at all full.

Is there anything I can do to stop this as I'm missing some great shots!

If it happened to me I'd try formatting the card in the camera (download your photos first; formatting wipes them) and if that didn't work, I'd try a different card.

I have this with a generic Class 6 Card.

I now only use Sandisk Extreme II (or whatever they are now called) and nno such problems. It gets me aout an extra frame in a burst shooting RAW.

I get this with my 400D, but only when the flash is up.

I didn't think of that before, but if it's only happening with the flash on, it's because the flash has to recharge between shots. The stronger the previous flash and the more depleted the battery, the longer it will take to recharge.
