I have my late father's EOS1000D 35mm here with two AF lenses. Both are Sigma, one being a 52mm Autofocus and a 70/210. Am i right in thinking these will fit a digital SLR (Canon) and therefore I can do this as a cheap start up?

I'd be very suspicious of older sigma lenses as they were imperfect copies of canons AF system and a lot of the realy old ones wont work and cant be fixed.

Post up the exact details of each lens and someone will tell you if they will work.

But to be honest a 1000D twin lens kit (18-55IS, 55-250IS) will be a lot better.

ok the 52mm has 1076358 and the 70/210 8018560 stamped on it.

Edited to say - I have the box for the 70/210 which has F/4-5.6
