Bullet cameras

I recall sometime ago a thread on here about cheap bullet cameras that actually gave a really good picture but I can't for the life of me find it.

Does anyone know what I am on about and if so can they point me in the right direction.

What do you want to do with it? I have just purchased a Roadhawk to fit to my car permanently. This is a 1.3 Mp camera recording to an SD card. Can do VGA at up to 30 fps or top resolution at 5 fps.

Occasional recording for things like drives with other TVR's, track days etc.

Bought one of these after seeing a post on here think i was 13 quid all in and a 8gb sd card find it really good for the money.

Go pro and contour HD and both pretty darn good quality for price

and are sort of HD. Quality of footage for price is remarkable. Don't have screens though, so its a bit trail and error to get decent framing.

Gopro is a rugged little thing- someone on here showed me his youtube page, where he had a video of himself accidentally running over his gopro with his M5- no damage to camera at all!

The contour HD was the camera the BBC strapped to the side of my car when filming recently. It fell off at 60mph, got a few bumps and scratches, but still worked perfectly!

really? im surprised. I'd have thought the lack of being able to monitor the cam live, for setting up framing, would have been quite a pain in the ass.

just curious, what program was your car filmed for? I hope they paid to repair your car if it got scratched when the cam fell off!

The cameraman did comment on the fact it was pot luck if they got any good footage.

It was held onto the wing with a sucker and there was no damage to the car. I was interviewed about potholes and claiming. Needless to say, when the report was edited and shown on breakfast news, they edited the film to suggest I damaged my car/wheel and didn't get anywhere. Quite the contrary, I made two successful claims and proved the local authority were neglecting the roads and they coughed up!

nice work getting two successful claims. I had a nasty pothole that was so deep it took my oil filter clean off, causing me to loose all my engine oil! Went back the next day to take photos but it had already been filled in. Tryed persuing a claim, but got nowhere unfortunately. I was only after the cost of a new oil filter and oil too

That's really bad luck.

The holes I hit had been there for some time, and remained there until the council coughed up for my claim. They claimed the weather was to blame for the breakup of the road. I don't think they expected a detailed weather report showing the weather had been fine, with images of the road, tyres etc. and quotes from their customer charter.

£600 or thereabouts was the payout.

I have a couple of these
Ebay not sure if thats the people I used but it's the same camera and there are loads on there. Came in a couple of days.

Some test footage I took. Quality has actually taken a hit uploading to youtube, original is better.

For a tenner, it's worth a go!

I'm not sure which you are refering to. This is an example of the group buy (can't remember the cost but about £400). I have another clip somewhere @ 120 with the roof off, clear picture and sound. Very good quality but not cheap:
