I got a new scanner yesterday so I have been able to digitise some photos I've shot with my large format panoramic camera. I've not had time to get out much recently but I might try and take a couple of pictures this year now I have closed the loop a bit on the workflow side. They are all velvia 100F shot with my Fotoman 617 (there's a pic at the end) and scanned on the Epson V750. I've had a few problems with it but nothing the new film mount won't solve I hope.

k e thats a beast of a camera! The xpan not giving enough!? 
Trying to work out what's going on with the branches hanging down on the RHS of #2 - is that some sort of ghosting/ double exposure artefact or just tree movement from a longish exposure?
- 1 has too much cyan for my taste, again top right. Looks a cracking image aside from that.

Hiya, the first one is Uffington! It's kind of my nemesis there. It took me ages to find a composition that worked in the letterbox format, and I've been back several times and never quite got the right light or time of year. Still, it's an awesome drive there from here so no complaints. Anyway, it's about time you started posting a few more photographs.Iit's always nice to see something other than more of Mr Carters boring landscapes.

Hi John. The xpan is an amazing camera. I shot loads with it before selling it to Fergus, something that I kind of regret. If you can get hold of one and take a wee bit of time to get used to it you'll love it. I'm designing the odd website here and there at the moment which is going we. I feel a panoramic camera is my next move, prob an xpan.

Hiya, on the shot of the tree it's movement caused by the long exposure... I think it was three minutes at f32. I'll have to see if the calibration on my monitor has drifted as the film is quite neutral so it must be an error on my part during the scanning process!- 1 has too much cyan for my taste, again top right. Looks a cracking image aside from that.

What film mount are you using? I gave up trying to get a decent scan of my 5x4 and 6x17 slides as the mount on my scanner isn't great, but have been tempted by the Epson 750 as it supports fluid mounting - have you tried this?
Hi Ed,I had the same problem and had given up too until I took a punt on the V750. The film holder for 120 is ok and the 54 is the same, however there is a significant curve in the film. After some research I've decided to order a variable height fluid mount from Better Scanning with the ANR glass plates to smooth everything out, and I'll get a fluid kit from Haynes in London. This seems a better solution than the Epson FMA which has it's own problems. I'm happy to be the guinea pig here...when it arrives feel free to post me a roll and I'll scan it for you or even better pop down and we can test it out before you buy one.

I really reckon more people should have a go with shooting some film. I know it's really expensive and can be very frustrating, but it's also so rewarding and you learn so much about how cameras and exposure actually work. It really forces you to think the whole shot through.
The only other shot I can find from the same camera is this one of my old porker.
