I want to print a HUGE poster

Hi,

I would like to create huge full glossy color poster from a photograph, about 2.5m long and 1m wide.

Example - I want a landscape view of a beach along one of the walls in my bathroom.

Is this possible? could any decent printer company do this? I would also like it to be ridgid (but not canvas). Does that make sense?

I'm sure businesses have these sorts of things made up all the time for promotions etc.

Any ideas?

you could print on A4 and look at it from really close up.

Go to a local sign company. As long as the photo is high quality then they should be able to print it for you.

We (PH) have made images up to around 1.5 metres using normal photos, and could have gone larger. We use a promotions company who build exhibition stands, similar companies local to you should be able to help.

Just make sure your image is super hi-res and looks perfect as all the errors will show at that size

What do you class as super hi-res ?

I plan on doing this too, local printers will put onto canvas.

I have an 8mb camera is this enough, of is there a guide as how big I can take that?
If I find a picture online, How do I determine the resolution and again what is a good resolution?

Out or interest what resolution will a good quality non digital be? Like a pro would use

They supples it exterior grade, mounted on 5mm foamex and delivered it the next day.

Quality looks great, slight breakup when viewed close up, but most importantly my client loves it

I will be using them again - simply excellent service. I spoke to them on a Thursday, converted my file to the largest .tiff I could get, and uploaded ti their servers thursday afternoon, got a call from them at about 6.00pm apologizing that they couldn't dispatch for Friday delivery, would Sat be ok (with a slight surcharge) or was Monday ok?

Their print quality is great, backed with excellent customer service, means I'll be returning...

I think the cost was about £120 delivered including the VAT.

I can vouch for the quality. He doesn't do gloss printing though I don't think (correct me if I'm wrong..). I ordered some matt prints last week and was very happy.
