The 750 is, in digital camera terms, rather elderly and I suspect the normal course of action in many cases for such a failure would be to replace it with a new model. It might be a less expensive option in practical terms.
Officially approved camera repairers seem to be few and far between these days - possibly because there are so many models around that keeping up with things and getting the parts would be uneconomic without the economy of scale. Plus the manufacturers would have an extra burden for quality control of their intricate consumer electronics products.
Those repairers that do exist tend to use a postal/courier service although in London there may be wider options for drop in.

I have used one of them - H. Lehmann in Stoke - a few times over the years and found them to be very helpful. I am close enough to Stoke (about 40 miles) to justify travelling there rather than using postal services so have tended to drop off and collect.
