Video Camera for real time recording into iMovie.

I need an HD video camera that I can plug directly into my Mac, via Firewire or USB, and record live images to iMovie.
I'm recording Cine Film images direct from the screen, I will then edit in iMovie. I have a standard def Sony that works well but really want to go HD if possible.
Camera must have manual focus as auto focus does not always work well, I have a set up in a dark room and the camera will be tripod mounted around 4 feet from a small screen.
Any recommendations? Budget is...cheap! I doubt I will ever use the camera for anything else, I do not really care what format it records however SD cards would be ideal.
