Canon outlet on Ebay. Any reason not to?

I've just had a look on the Canon shop on Ebay. They seem to have a regular flow of refurbished 7D bodies which are selling for £820-880 or so on average. Given that this is £150-200 cheaper than I've been able to find new ones, it seems like a bit of a bargain, especially coming direct from the manufacturer.

Is there any reason not to get one? Do they still have the same warranty as new ones?

I believe that they are covered, no real reason not to apart from that feeling that its been used.

As I understand it you usually can't tell, but I'd be interested to know if the shutter count will start from zero.

I bought an A3 printer from them, not a camera but it came in original box, properly packed and has been faultless. I wouldn't worry. Shame nikon don't have similar.

Bidding is very competitive

I bought a refurbd 400d from jessops, the shutter count was 14, they may have just been returned hardly used.

That's exactly how I bought my 40D, I've had no end of things not going wrong with it.

My first DSLR was a re-ferb through the EBay Canon Outlet. I had no problems and would use them again, go for it!

I bought a 350D some years ago and it had a fault - they repaired it FOC.

It then developed a further fault and they very happily gave me my money back...in full. All goods come with the original warranty, and I would have no problems buying from them again.

Some lucky person picked up a 7D for £671 the other day.

However the prices achieved do seem to vary a lot.

I've bought dSLR, printer and a couple of Ixus from the Outlet and all have been fine. One of the Ixus' developed a fault that was fixed very rapidly under warranty.

I bought a 50d from them that clearly hadn't been tested (even though they say everything has). Nice people to do deal with refunded quickly, although they didn't want to refund the postage costs at first. Not sure I can recommend using them, I'd rather pay the extra £200.

Got my 20D through them. Paid quite a lot for a "2nd hand/refurb'd" body, but it's been fine, so no real complaints.
