Buy or borrow a standard 8 projector?

Not my usual PH section this so firstly 'Hi' 
I have recently unearthed a stack of old standard 8 cine film that my father shot in the 60's. There really is loads of the stuff and I would like to have a day / weekend going through it all. That should please the family
I may then decide to transfer some to DVD and probably bin the rest.
However, the trusty Eumig projector we used to own went long ago ao I need to get my hands on a suitable replacement. Should I look to buy & re-sell or is it likely that someone would be prepared to loan one - (I really don't know what a std 8 projector is worth these days)
Any advice would be great, thanks
