Very nice Carter. I have always loved you photos of stuff. Now to make it a nice screen saver.

gotta love broadband. 200kb/s

and now that it has crashed at 99% norton seems to have found a W32.Pinfi virus in it

Brian

It went through the usual Norton scans this end.... Could be that it just found an .exe file (which are usually viruses) let me know if it has a fault asap - ta

Edited to add... was it the 8 or the 50 you were downloading?

Just going to check this Win32/Parite virus thing on the net - see what it means...

back soon.

It's listed as an SCR virus, but latest Norton isn't picking it up on my HD. However, I have trashed this thread and the links till sorted - just in case.

Don't you just love computers.

Thanks for the help guys.

OK... I *think* it's sorted.

Even though a Norton scan revealed no viruses on my Hard Disk, I downloaded the 8 mb file and Norton flagged the said W32 virus.

Looked it up on the net and it's not nasty, just a pain (and well hidden!). So downloaded all the remove patches and re-booted Win XP.... a very boring 30 mins pass.

Then rebiult the Screen Saver, uploaded, downloaded ... and Norton says it's fine.

Phew.

When any of you have a moment (or a nano moment if you are broadbanded) - perhaps you'll download the 8 mb file and let me know it's not now flagged by Norton

If it is, I'm giving up... but let me know.

If it's OK... it's back on the charity site tomorrow.

Ta again for the help.

Still getting it, but i doubt it's anyhting big. Virus scanners seem to be paranoid about .scr files for some reason.
