Street Photography

Have recently been alerted to the work of Vivian Maier and have been very impressed with some of her work now seeing the light of day.

I’ve often wondered about giving street photography a try, but feel I would be very self conscious pointing a camera at complete strangers.

The thought that struck me was that most (if not all) of Vivian Maier’s work was taken on a Twin lens Rollieflex. Perhaps having the camera at waist level is the way to go – being less intimidation to the subject.

That's probably a fair comment, yes. Especially these days as they'll think you're trying to send a text!

You also get a lower POV and square format which make for different compositions.
