Pivotal problem

Sorry guys, but another request for assistance!.
On checking the 2 hoop pivot bolts (on the rear roof section, I found that the O/S one was simply turning but not tightening and consequently was allowing a fair degree of movement in the hoop.
Am I right in thinking that the bolt should be engaging a captive nut and if so how can this be accessed?. The only way seems to involve removing the boot lid ( for better access), lifting the trim and reaching through to the offending item - if possible.
Any thoughts on sorting this would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers - Chris

Dont try from the boot you wont get to it.
Two ways of doing it.
Firstly in front of the pivot point there is a small opening usally cover by a bit of trim on top of a piece of cardboard stuck to cover the hole.
As you can see the nut is visable and you can get a spanner on it. I dont believe it is ever a captive nut
The other metod of access is to remove the seal at the back of the door and carefully pull the carpet away roughly in the area of the door latch, there is an opening there (mainly for access to the latch I think) and you should be able to insert your hand and grope upwards, but you will get cut to shreads on the fibreglass. I suggest you tie any spanner to your wrist with string otherwise a long fishing expedition will follow with a magnet. I know!!!!!!!!!!!!
