I have so far bought 2 sets of HT leads and both have been the wrong type for the male connectors on my dizzy cap!
Can anyone help with the correct part? I've searched the forums and read the alt parts list but I'm getting stuck!
I presented the part numbers in the alternative parts list but got leads that don't fit from the autofactor. I didn't realise at the time and was an idiot and 'made' them fit but they are causing some problems to say the least (and I can't return them now
).
I bought a set off ebay for a 2.9 Granada which showed connectors for a male dissy but they just turned up and are for a female dissy cap.
Other than going back the the autofactors with my dissy cap does anyone know what part I need to ask for? Tend to get a bit of 'computer says no' syndrome when I mention TVR.

Even Ford get this wrong - many years ago it took me several weeks and several visits to the local Ford parts department to get a cap, a rotor arm, and a set of leads that matched those on the car.
I just bought leads a couple of weeks ago to replace those Ford leads I bought then. The "male" leads you (and I) have (where the connector on the distributor cap is exactly the same as a spark plug termoial) are called "SAE" connections. The normal "female" cap connectors are called "DIN connectors"
So I discovered you need to specify SAE leads. I ordered mine from http://www.ignitioncarparts.co.uk (Part No OEF187) and they were perfect - the only problem was that that the coil end of the king lead to the coil was DIN and not SAE (I have a Ford dry coil with the same male connector) so I left the old king lead temporarily - on the bright side, I can now buy a standard canister-type coil rather than rooting around for an original!

I did look at the Magnecor leads but I want black ones not red or blue...what is it with blue bits for car engine bays anyway!

That was exactly my thought - as recorded on the diary! Each to their own though - everybody is entitled to do what they like - it's their car, not mine!
