I decided that I need to get a new hood and get the targa panels re-covered I had checked out AJ trimming and the guy seemed to know what he was about so I called him the other day to book it in. He can't do it until July!! don't know if I can wait that long. I'd like it all sorted before Goodwood in June.

Has anyone fitted one of the Autohood jobbies themselves?

I was wondering how easy it is to do myself. I'm also going to do the targa panels at the same time.

I've done a bit of trimming in the past so it's not completely new and I did help a friend fit a new hood on his midget years ago.

What do you think DIY job or get the pro's in?

Also any thoughts about things to do at the same time, roof seals are obvious what about the lugs?

Go for it.

I will be doing mine sometime in the next 6 weeks, as long as you take your time I think you / we'll be alright.

Thanks - Just ordered it today. should be here in a week or two.

I'll try and remember to take some photo's and write up a guide.

Anyone know where to get the rubbers for the tops of the windows? Can't see them on Woolies. website.

I bought a full set of rubber seals for the targa panels a month or so back from TVR-Power in Coventry, ask for Andy, nice guy and they are normally quick to deliver.

I did finally get round to fitting the hood (although I've not done the targa panels yet).

I also put together a guide which Pies has kindly uploaded to his site.

Hope it helps.

A very tidy job, looks like the rear window is larger than the one in my top too. So, do you rate the Autohoods soft top (looks good to me)?

Yep I am very pleased with it. I went for the more expensive material as it still seemed reasonable. All the parts were included (velcro strips for the car body etc) and the screen was carefully proteced for shipping.

As to longevity - only time will tell.
