I read all the comments that were posted with some dismay, as my dash was flaking badly. Fortunately
I have a "craftsman in wood" in the family and after many hours he has created a Burr Walnut Veneer dashboard and switch plate of superb quality and attention to detail. He says he can supply them for half the £600 quoted on this site by post or if the car is taken to him these can be fitted for an extra £50.00, you don't even have to remove the dash as it fits straight on top, if you are interested contact Andy at [e-mail] he should have some photographs that he can mail you.

Have you got before and after pics ?
Where is your family "craftsman in wood" located ?

I don't know if you have read many of the other posts - RE: DASH, but does your wooden family member have a template for the dash...?

I have access to laser cuting steel or stainless... A few would like to see or have their S dash in metal...

sorry no Digi pics available yet but willing to send photos by post till I can get them on line. Andy does have template from my car he lives in Notts. only have after shots of dash because even paint free and polished it looked a sad crappy mess. but now wow....

Chris, the idea of getting a new wood dash and just slotting it in is a very tempting one (and an option us S owners have been missing) so thanks for the offer. A few months ago I'd be very interested indeed - but, after stripping all the old wood off I'm one of those who would like to get a stainless dash.

Any chance of a template for Bridgdav to work his magic?
