Well, trouble free tour of Scotland, no issues at service just before it, passed MOT but with a couple of advisories that looked like £60-70 preventative welding work.
Then found the cerb will need its engine out over the winter.
Asked Barkychoc to consider the welding as part of his new venture and spent a very pleasant morning ctaching up with him.... until he removed a chunk of my waxoil.
It all looked pretty much OK with just minor work needed, but what testers can't do is remove waxoil. Chris did and we found that my o/s outrigger has its very own form of air conditioning. I've seen far worse pictures on here but as with my cerb, I intend to keep her for a long time.
As Chris has experience with his own car, he kindly agreed to do mine over the winter. When the body comes off no doubt there will be other stuff to do but hey, Chris is excellent, it'll be a great job and she'll be safe for many more trips.
It'll be a quiet winter, no cerb, no V8S, may have to sell the wedge to pay for both them, but it'll all be worth it.
Chris, many thanks for your help yeaterday and thank you for taking the project on (and for the ride in your car, it runs so well and really is quick!).

Thanks Ian. I was surprised as it was really strong last year, and looked pretty much OK too. However, it is of course an opportunity.

I may have to cover this a little by saying 'damn, your Ka service this year is nearly £3k - what have you been doing!!'.

The reason it is OK one minute and OMG the next is that it rots from the inside outwards - the water will have been getting in no doubt on the top of the outrigger somewhere - and once inside it can't escape until it has eaten its way out!
