Rover V8

Hi All
Just a question for the V8's. I have just tried a rover V8 in to see how much clearance there is where the manifolds sit at the back of the engine. I found there is not enough room for the manifolds to fit between the engine and the body which leads to the question, is the S V8 tubs wider where the engine sits right back in the chassis.
I only ask as it looks like I will have to mod the tub to get my manifolds to clear the body when the engine sits right bock into the tub.

I don't know for sure but I think it might be modified.
The manifolds are very close to the body - do you want me to go take a pic? You might be able to see if the body has a different profile.

Hi Chris,
That would be very helpful if you would, I tried to look on your Photobook but could not see anything that would help. It could be that the first S were different.
I do know the Lexus is about 1 1/2" wider than the rover and the exhausts point down a bit so I will have to do a bit of glass work to the sides to finish of the engine install.

Do these give you anything?
My camera is now having a fit as the battery is low - if you want more let me know I'll take some when it has charged up (tomorrow).

You can clearly see the red chassis tube under the fanimold.

My guess is where you can see the heat shielding expand outwards to accomodate the manifolds yours goes straight up - does that make sense?

Thanks Chris,
Mine is straight up from the chassis rail, I guess they did a mod on the mould for the V8. I knew I would have to cut the tub sides to get the LS in, will start Monday night with a saw and plenty of glass and resin.
