Brakes Issue...help required please.

Hello Men of the forum, I need some advice 2.9 S3.......

Went for a drive yesterday and when I press the brakes engine running I get a momentary air noise around the pedal area. Brakes do work efficiently but whereas this only used to happen on the initial push on the brakes it seems to be there all the time (each time I press the pedal).Is this normal?. I should add that the brakes have been bled by a TVR specialist as refurbished calipers have been fitted but I'm not comfortable that this noise is still there.

Other info... vacuum pipe from servo to plenum does appear a little strained purely due to gravity at the servo end and I did wonder if air was getting in around the plug area where it enters the servo. I have now taken this pipe off completely and it is rock hard and rigid (been on since new)I did wonder about replacing this or is it meant to be super stiff?

Is there a seal on the servo pedal end that could be worn and thus creating the air noise, I have another servo if its terminal but was hoping it was a quick fix.

Servo's are a weak point because they rust at the bottom and the seal goes. Press your thumb onto the lower face of the servo and if it flexes then it's probaby shot. A slight sucking noise when first pressing the pedal isn't that unusual but if it bacame a hissing then there might be soemthing wrong. Changing the servo isn't that a big job, geting at the nuts in the foot-well is the worst bit. Goos luck

That's the noise of the brake servo working. Perhaps you're noticing it more now because you're listening out for it but it should have been making that noise all along. It's when that noise stops you've got a problem.

If the vacuum pipe is solid change it for new and only use vacuum pipe as any other type will collapse
