Hi all

with all this warm weather we're having I've noticed my header tank is cracked and under pressure does leak water

Question:- Does anyone know what car this part came from, I have already had a look at the bible, but couldn't find it

any ideas,

I am guessing that you mean the plastic tank, if so this should not be under pressure (the pressure cap should be on the metal swirl pot). The plastic tank is the expansion tank. If the metal tank is bust then this is likely a TVR only part.

its the plastic one.

also, when i had the presure cap on the metal one it would blow water out all the time, with the presure cap on the plastic one its fine. its just the plastic one is not old and has cracked along the top seam.

any ideas what the donor car would be???

Late Rover Sd1.

Take it (or your car) to a Rover garage, they'll look it up on the micro-fische (?)

I bought one several years ago, its a few quid and was ex-factory stock then.

Hey whatever works, works. There is no true pure answer.

and if it ain't broke, don't fix it

surely must apply.
