Throttle Spring Broken...Help Required

Evening Gents

My throttle spring is broken, the throttle still works but I would like to repair the spring. Question is how do I dismantle the mechanism to replace it. It looks like it just pulls apart once off, is it this simple. Can't see how it comes apart or is it staring me in the face. Thanks in advance. Damon

More info....Its the spring that sits in the area at the end of the plastic arm that operates the butterflys /base of pivot area that turns when the throttle is pressed. My photo editor is rubbish or I am so can't add a pointer. Hope this makes sense.

At the top (I think, if not the botom) of the vertical shaft there is a tiny circlip, remove that(but i suggest putting a few strands of wire through the circlip loop so you dont loose it), slide shaft up to dis engage at the bottom, turn at an angle and pull down to die-engage the top bush and its done, BUT dont loose the circlip

There is what looks at first glance an identical spring to that on the V8 - I know as I bought one for a customer last week. It was about a fiver but I would see if you can get the proper one from ford first. If not let me know I'll post details of the one I bought.
I'm on my phone at the mo so don't have the details to hand.

Thanks for your help guys. Chris I already have a spring as I bought a spare throttle body from the bay a while back, but thanks for the offer. PS your right Norman the circlip is tiny!

Getting unusual size springs like that can be difficult, but remember that they're just made by bending a bit of spring steel round a former. All you need to replace it is a piece of piano wire similar thickness bent into a similar shape. There's a bit of a knack to it (because when you wind a spring round a former, the spring you get isn't the same size as the former) so you might need a few tries, but this sort of thing doesn't need to be precise.

I've found a couple of my local Ford garages to be really quite helpful spending considerable time trying to identify parts (with no chassis number or registration to help) but at the end of the day I guess Main Dealers are not in the business of keeping 20 year old cars on the road ?
