S3c on a P plate.

Spotted in Thames Ditton on a spotless light Maroon car , which makes it registered in 1996 . Chims were getting long in the tooth by then!! Anybody know anything about it ?

It can't be you are not allowed to have a private plate that is newer than the car. Could it have been an S4? Pretty hard to tell the difference between S3/S4 isn't it?

Wild guess but could it have been foreign registered from new and imported to the UK? Or maybe it wasn't registered till 96 but if so where had it been??

Maybe it was an 'old' P plate?

I thought S4's had 'flat' bonnets with no centralised vent but vents along the edges like the Chims?

Correct they do but this had the central air intake and driving lights def an S3c , in any case s4's were not being made in '96.
