This is the first car i've had to MOT for 15 years.
So apart from the following is there anything that stands out as a good thing to check before MOT

Steering - following items replaced in the last year

steering rack
2 track rod ends
Bulkhead bearing (not nylon)
8 superflux wishbone bushes
2 Top ball joints

Suspension

New shocks and springs all round

Emissions

Checked after remapping found ok
And injectors cleaned

Lights,horn washer

New headlight
All lights work
No cracks or holes in any lens
new wipers and checked screen washers work

Windscreen

New screen fitted 2 weeks ago

Tyres and brakes

new tyres all round
handbrake seems ok
no leaks and all hoses secure

Chassis

No rust found
Seat belts ok not frayed

Is there anything obvious i need to check

TIA

Are you going to a "friendly" test centre ? Emissions are often a normal sticking point.

Most test centres only do the emissions at idle, wheras the rules allow for running at about 3,000 rpm IIRC - your emissions plummet at a few thou revs.

best of british - luck that is and not just neccassarily (I never can spell that word)a nod to the marque

A good MOT centre will respect your motor and be a little flexible, they'll also be blinded by th elevel of polish on yours which shows it gets looked after.

word of warning watch these test guys like hawks
i spent month repairing and painting the chassis,
got it back from MOT and the B*****D has scraped a section of paint off in different sections to the metal

and put a proviso on the certificate to stay chassis was excessively painted Der! that is the idea

exhaust mountings

brake operation (not pulling to one side?)
rusty brake pipes
flexible brake hoses bulging under pressure (that's a swine, got me once!)

steering rack gaiters

oh and seat belt mountings and condition

that's all i can think of at the mo.

(ps polisher works great btw ta!)

Check the seat belt anchor points! Mine needed a new plate welding in on near side prior to MOT. She sailed through, then I pranged it a week later Just waiting for OK from the insurance assessor before being repaired, current estimate is 2.5 - 3k!. Best of luck with the MOTs guys. Hope to be at the S meet.

Just got my S3 back from the MOT. The mechanic
came to pick it up and when he got it on the
ramp decided he was lucky to be alive. The o/s
trailing arm held on by faith and good fortune.
Trailing arms not easy to come by - some
2-3 weeks wait as TVR will only sell the trailing
arms pre-bushed (and no bushes in stock) - eventually sourced a reconditioned one which arrived in 2 to 3 days. All now back together and enjoying the sunshine.

Just done mine - only issue was OSF Headlight - wasn't working so fitted new bulb and replaced connector- yep two faults. However I'd moved the adjustment - the garage I use pointed me at the tool rack and said - you can do that....
