S2 2.9 springs and shocks - whats best

ok, i am thinking of treating myself over the winter to new springs and shocks as i tend to bottom out at the rear when on full chat in a corner.

any recommendations - for fast road use and previously tarmaced but not looked after road use in rural norfolk?

Cost no object got to be something like Nitrons.

Back down to earth there's plenty of choice in the £500 to £600 bracket.

am at the 5 - 600 bracket. Choice is my problem!

If I was buying I'd go for the Gaz Golds I think as they are so readily available.

Just replaced mine as a rear was leaking. Fitted Gaz Proffesional all round which are within your price range. Spoke to Derek at Absolutely Shocks. Top bloke and will advise you on spring ratings depending on your use. Very happy with the outcome.

The only thing that will help you in Norfolk back roads is a 4x4 - most of my exhaust is spread around our fair county...

indeed - i know it well, spending so much time watching cambers is not fun......i tend to think more about my route than ever before, except when i had a severely lowered mercedes (dont ask why) which at -45mm was a complete nightmare of 65mm to the sump!

As you're in Norfolk I can tell you that you don't want to go with the 375lb fronts and 300lb rears that they seem to want to supply to S owners. My S had them and used to blow through the travel all the time. To compensate you increase the damping then the ride is rough and harsh. Better off getting some stiffer springs (I ran 450/375) and reduce the damping or better still speak to to one of the TVR specialists (either DG or Adrian V, can't remember which) and investigate their progressive springs. TVR shipped the S with progressive springs and I'd be fitting some if I still had my S.
