Aha! One of the legendary Italian supercharged two litre V8s! Not and never was an S2 I suspect - that's just a labelling error. In the fastest colour too!

I once drove all the way to Italy to see one of these, but when I got there it had disappeared...

At least it's a bit cleaner than the S standing next to it! Looks like it was photographed at an auction site, maybe?

The seller of this one says "Rara tvr v8 s.2000"
"Rare TVR", "S" & "2000" it is. "V8" it isn't.
I know from talking to Han (from Holland) that our cars cost far more in mainland Europe than they do here which, with the recent exchange rates, has meant several cars being shipped from the UK. But €30,000...?

I thought the cars exported to Italy were V8s, sleeved to 2000 cc, to slip under the Italian car tax threshold. The intention was that they would be supercharged, and that was the main (if not the only) reason that the height of the bonnet hump on the V8S model was increased - so that the supercharger would fit under, on the export models.

So I suspect it probably IS a 2000cc V8.

I knew the cars were supercharged and the reason for the bonnet bulge but didn't realise they were cut down V8's, I thought they were V6's
