Ive just had my steering rack rebuilt by Kiley-Clinton excellent job really friendly and helpful, collection / delivery £121 just need to get some track rod ends now nige.

What was the issue with your rack? Sloppy or stiff steering? My S3 has shoulder dislocating stiffness but it looks like the lower UJ was the problem.
With it disconnected from the steering column and track rod ends can you slide the rack back and forwards easily?

Are your UJs correctly aligned? Basically the yokes of each UJ on the steering shaft should be aligned. A google search will help if that doesn't make sense.
