S3 Clutch master - slave pipe.

Thinking of replacing the kunifer pipe with a braided flexy pipe. Has anyone done this? If so how long should it be?

Also, just fitted new AVO shocks to the springs but I can't remember which goes on the front and back (Doh!) The four springs are not the same, two longer narrower springs and two shorter wider. Which is which?

I would suspect that the short fat ones are for the front as they would be the greater poundage

also I am in the process of fitting aeroquip braided hoses on the car including the clutch, but the body is off mine so not completed. The hose is quite cheap and you would need less than a 1.5 mtr.

Fat ones are rears with my old Avo's.

Used a 900mm high pressure flexible refrigerant hose on mine (longest I could find), only just long enough even with a 90 degree elbow out of master cylinder so guess about 110mm/120mm would be good (easier to lose a bit than to stretch it).

Hi I made mine (or should I say local hydraulic centre did) it was 1050mm long if I recall and was plenty long enough. Details on here but search system is not my friend at the moment but someone else maybe able to find it. And then you can read all about it including pics. Fitted it in May I think so you could back track and see if you can find the thread. Good Luck

How does the pipe seal?
I went to pirtek and they said it was by an O ring under the shoulder of the hydraulic fitting - not deformation of the end of the fitting like happens with copper pipe.
I wasn't keen on that idea so stuck with copper pipe and brass threaded fittings.

Chris no O ring on mine if you view the thread you can see the fittings that where supplied and used by Pirtek (Hull branch) HTH
