Hi guy's,

Went to Supercar Sunday at Gaydon yesterday (top day inspite of the weather!!) and they've installed one of those little plastic speed bump things. Approached in standard 'S' fashion - Very slowly! and clobbered the downpies & exhaust as I went over it loud thump and red face!

Checked exhaust etc when I parked up - all seems OK until I can check properly on the ramps.

I've checked the ride height and opened the bonnet etc and all seems reasonable (bonnet doesn't srape when on the stay etc.

Would I be right in assuming (always dangerous!!) that it's time for new springs and dampers?

Cheers

Chris

Yep. That's what happened to me. Unfortunately my exhaust cracked.

I don't think an 'S' can get over those type of humps without incident whatever shocks you fit. I usually try to avoid them - either by going half on the pavement (local hospital) - or at Tesco I got a friend to stop all incoming traffic so I could go out the 'in' which didn't have a hump!

I'm very happy with the AVO's Austec fitted a few months ago

Have you tried driving over at a slight angle? Avoids that big drop when both wheels drop off the far side at the same time, this is usually when it grounds.
