A scrap rubber 90 degree elbow so I can experiment with fitting a K&N filter direct to the AFM. Hopefully the photo will explain.



It doesn't matter if it has splits or cuts, I just want to see if the theory works before I shell out on a new one.

I hope you aren't planning to leave the air filter drawing from that nasty hot engine bay.

If the idea works I'll fabricate a heat shield and check induction temps to compare with the standard set up. If the air flowing into yhe AFM is hotter than the standard set up I'll scrap the idea.

There was a V8S for sale last year with that mod you are proposing, but i don't know who bought it. Do you remember the layout on my V8S ? , it was a smooth 90 degree Elbow with a long tube going down to an Air filter. Then from the side of the Radiator, it had one of those Flex hoses mounted to the lower Grill underneath the Indicator.

In theory it should have worked, but i had my doubts during the Winter. ( too much Cold Air ).

I do, and thought about copying your lay-out. I have a big rubber elbow off a Griff to use if I end up going down that route. I was hoping to get rid of all the plumbing tot he front of the car so long as it doesn't affect the running.
