This has driven me mad all summer so i bought a new plastic saddle that fits into the top of the gearbox,Remove the 3 star headed bolts from the gear lever housing, the lever pulls out then using an allen key clamped to a pair of grips lift the old saddle out, clip the new item onto the shaft job done .THE BEST £7.00 spent this year ,drives like a new one .

Thanks chaps, sounds advice! Ordered mine to fit at some point smile My S2 buzzes like mad on the motorway, but I don't hear it most of the time - the engine/wind/exhaust see to that! Annoying with the roof on though

Bumped for Swimmer.
But I think this is a lower priority than the chassis cross-member issue.

I did my saddle a few months ago but still have the buzz hence removing the exhaust and propshaft today, one of the UJ joints feels tight to me so I hope this could be the cause of the buzzing gear stick.
