Help! Noob buying an S3 need advice please.

Hi all.

I'm looking at buying a '91 S3 with around 80k miles on the clock in the next week or so. Other than the items listed in the Buyers Guide on www.tvrsseries.com are there any other things I should check for [cam belt changes @ xxx miles etc.]?

and the V6 (at least) doesn't have a cam belt - it has good old fashioned duplex chains - and my last 2.9 V6 engine was on 180,000 miles on the original chain, so I don't know how long they last after that! (I sold the car)

Would recommend spending some money and asking someone like Rob Ingleby to have a proper look at the car, they should be able to cover thier costs by giving you an indication of the areas that may need looking at on the car

Thanks for the advice guys! I've e-mailed Rob with regards to him to doing an inspection... best to rely on an expert!
