More parts advise wanted

Hi all

One last problem with me car

Basically since i have got the car working properly and the water system pressurising. i have a small leak around the water pump, i've been told its due to the seal inside the pump failing.

any ideas what the water pump part number is, or what the donor car is, as there is a few on ebay for sale.

On the alternative part list as Motaquip VWP426.

I also have an AP Lockheed number at home (just done mine) and it cost approx £55 I think!

Gasket came with new pump too.

is that the v8 or the v6

i need the one of the v8

its either a range rover one, or a rover sdi one?

any one know ???

That's V6 ....sorry didn't know yours is a V8!

Just noticed your car is back up for sale, I thought UKBob had bought it.........? Did the sale fall through?

From what i understand, he was advised not to buy the car by some one that had already seen the car. so he advised me to put it back up for sale.

he's still interested, i hope, would like to get the water pump sorted before i let him see it.

The thing that wound me up was that everyone that looked at it before were advised i was selling it cheap because i knew it needed a few jobs done, they have all been done now. and havent inflated the price to the usual 10k prices they seem to attract at the moment.

Also the reason its been up for sale for so long is that after speaking to me for a while, i usually convince them to buy a S3, as the V8's are little too much for some one new to the mark. probably helped sell a load of the S's on pistonheads.

maybe i should be on commision.

anyway if it sells - great, if not i'll continue to enjoy it

still need advise on the water pump though - please

There have been s few different types of water pump fitted to the V8 apparently best bet is to visit your local motor factor to identify it
