Having completed a run from home, near Newport, to Aberystwyth and back, at night and in rain so lots of careful driving I checked the mpg and got just over 31.
Curious to see how much I could get if I was 'really' careful on a run I checked after a trip from M4 Leigh Delamare services to Newbury, about 20 miles of stop start town driving there, then up to High Wycombe, about 15 miles more town driving there and back to Wales. I was very disciplined and stuck to 60mph max, roof on as it was still wet. Filled up back home, 37.2 mpg.

I know this is a sin and I will try to get it back down but I didn't think it could be so frugal.

Apparently, there is another pedal to the right of the brake. If you press this the fuel consumption increases in direct proportion to the smile on your face! But it is good to know how far the car could go when you are looking for a filling station.

Cheers
