thanks for the advice gents, more help needed!
Discussion
You may remember my last thread, something on the lines of ....... lost interest in restoring my S1 want to see it in bits.........
Well your replies gave me some inspiration..
i finished hammeriting the chassis this morning, and rebuilt all my front suspension. It looks great with powder coating wishbones and new ball joints etc.
now for the questions.
Q1 the top wishbones aren't symetrical, one 'arm' is longer than the other. Does the long side or the short side go to the front of the car?
Q2 i might as well replace the track rod ends while they are off. Does anybody know the part number for them? i cant find the web page that listed all S parts any more, how can i find it?
Q3 while the engines out im gonna put a new clutch in it, does anybody know the part nos for it? its a 2.8.
Q4 the exhaust manifolds are very ugly and rusty, does anybody have any old stainless ones for sale, or do you know where i can buy some replacent cast iron ones?
thanks for your help gents, im looking forward to getting her on the road again now

Good oh, another S lives again..
No idea bout Q1-3 I'm afraid, though I can dig out the bible and see if that helps later on if you are still stuck. Only place I can think of for the exhaust is RT Racing in Sheffield, seem to remember Richard has them in his stock list. Joolz from Joospeed might, but I'm not sure..
Either way, I'm based in Sheffield and do a fair bit of work in Blackpool; if you source parts over here and are flexible about timing I can fetch them over for you..

Glad to hear you have renewed enthusiasm and the S will live to roar another day !
Fairly new to S ownership myself and still learning (rapidly) so cannot help you out with the techy questions but I believe the parts list has been removed (instructions from a higher source, apparently).
Try emailing parkersteve@ntlworld.com - he should be able to help with the list.
I'm guessing most of the PHers are at PistonFest hence the lack of replies to this thread. Keep posting - they are a helpful bunch.

Hi, Danny,
Can't help with Q1, but think this should get you to parts list:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/parkersteve/sparts.asp
David Gerald is good source of parts the you're looking for including manifolds - I got a pair ex stock last October from there, £280 plus VAT - not much cheaper than stainess, but were only ones could get ex stock at the time
