Yesterday when my wife was driving the S3 it chucked it down with rain !!! and it had a couple of leaks... (don't think this car has ever been out in the rain before.... one from the roof only a small drip really ...but the other more puzzling one was in the driver footwell. It wasn't from below as I have resealed the drain p[lugs with silicone... it was from above running onto her sandled feet !!!

Now obviously I need to fix the leak before I drive it in the rain!!! Read the bible and it says it could be leaking via the bonnet clips... anyone had a similar problem??

Thought about asking Mrs Doddze to sit in the car whilst I sprayed the hoze over it to find the leak but she wasn't happy and it would have got nasty !!!!!

Windscreen wiper spindle, and the various cables through the bulkhead, are all in that sort of area.

I'd agree with greenV8S, there are several points of entry for cables etc on the bulkhead and the sealer used during manufacture doesn't last forever. I'd give these a good clean with meths and use some black RTV silicone sealer around them.

I need to do the same on mine!

The other place I have a small leak is between the two hard roof panels. I think I'll try a larger but softer rubber here.

I had this and it went away after i applied a few coats of Thompsons to the roof. Never had a leak since.

Sounds like your soft top is getting on a bit!

Good stuff is Thompsons water seal.

I'd recommend the Renovo kit (£40) it cleans re-colours and seals the roof leaving it looking almost new. Top stuff.

YIKES!!!

I must be having real problems, my S1 leaks like a sive (wrong spelling), it leaks between the roof panels, at the back of the roof panels and through the tops of the windows (that is the worst area), ive got bucket seats at the moment and they act ike a sponge! Soggy botty-a plenty at the moment.

Don't worry. Most of us have been there. Try new rubbers all round. It's solved all my leaks except between the roof panels and I think that's due to a broken lug. A good coating of Thompsons helps too.
