Charity for SCH 2012

Hi all, just getting on with arrangements for SCH in July. Does anyone have a particular charity they would like us to collect for this year? I'd like it to be one that means something to someone, rather than a general one.

If there's no other nominations, I'll go for Sheffield Children's Hospital which is a charity I collect for every now and then, but not something that will mean much if you're not local.

How about 50% each for Sheffield Childrens Hopsital and Cancer Research or another Cancer charity in memory of our dear departed friend Ken and also for those of us that are still here but feeling its very close to home.

Maybe get a few options and then set up a poll thread?

How about the Royal Marines charity? Many RM's have been killed and seriously injured in Afghanistan and Iraq. It's a small charity and doesn't get the publicty the big ones get.

Having an Autistic son 'The National Autistic Society' get's my vote.
May be it's some thing I'd like to organise something for in the future. A run out, track day or something.

I'd go with the Cancer charities as also close to my heart.

That's an interesting one Simon, that affects huge numbers but doesn't get much publicty and sadly people can suffer from victimisation.

The last two years have been help for heroes (close to my heart) and Cancer UK (in memory of Ken) so whilst I appreciate the sentiments expressed above I would have thought something different this year would be better. My two penneth would be that it should be a UK national charity so that the UK benefit and that it means something to all from whatever region. For me the British Heart Foundation would meet this criteria, after all heart attacks are common amongst middle aged (or older men) and are brought on by excitement in just the same way as that S series smile

Just my view though and I have picked the last two!!!

Great if it can be but unfortunately I may only be able to get to the Saturday of S Club
this year so feel I couldn't put all my woooph behind it a take and take full part (But would want to)
May be for SClub 2013 of something.
