My early S1 exhaust manifold started blowing at the joint with cyl head, adjacent to No 3 cyl on driver's side (offside). I've removed it and found it's got a crack running about 1/3 of the way around the casting. It has part no. 73TF-9431-CA cast on the top & 49409 underneath. Has anyone got a spare or know of any suppliers/breakers? I note that Chris (Barkeychoc)says it was sourced from 2.3 V6 Cortina nearside, & I think Granada is another possibility. My Bro-in-law Barry S1 also needs the same. Any help / leads / info greatly appreciated guys.

Seeing as you have got the old one off I would probably try and source a stainless one , I don't suppose a second hand mild steel one would have many years left in it anyway ?

Hi Mike, I would really prefer to source a cast iron one to keep it all nice and original. If I can't find one, I suppose I'll have to go for stainless. Don't think mild steel is the way to go. Thanks for your input.

Thanks Norman, Mike & Barry, These are very close, but the one with the angled-down flange is roughly 30mm longer than mine and will not fit. Barry has got one of this type, I think they might be Capri. On the S1 they would foul on the chassis or come very close to rubbing against it.
I was told today that it is possible to TIG Weld cast iron if its kept in the right temperature range, so I might look into this if I can't get a replacement. Or stainless?scratchchin Decisions decisions. Norman, how do you do it so quickly, I've been trawling fleabay for ages, and you get a result in moments. What a guy!

Update: The part no. I need is 73TF-9431-CA and the length of the downwards-angled leg is approx 5 !/4" from the downpipe flange face to the centre of the exhaust port for No.1 cyl.
I've found a couple of Granada manifolds on fleabay this evening, one is too short & the other looks too long as before. I just want the happy medium! rolleyes
