New radiator alternatives

I am considering a new rad in my S2, but wondered whether anyone had found a reasonably priced alternative to the wallet munching £500 TVR S specific types?

I think I heard MG on here once but cant recall??? Dont mind a few mods if a good quality solution at a reasonable price.

Why not just go for re-conditioning by a reputable company? Mine was done for about £150 by a little "back street" place in Coventry recommended to me by Adrian@ (and he's fussy!).

Will be interesting to see how all these shiney new alluminium rads look after a couple of years of everything British roads and weather can throw at them

It's for a Chim, but it's more so you can get the company (couldn't make the link work) as they are close to you.
As I remember I've seen them do all sorts for TVRs

I used that company (Boston Radiators) to recore my radiator. I sent them my rad and they sent it back with a new core. I was happy with service.
I my opinion having a recore is the best option as you can be confident that the rad will fit back in your car. TVR made minor adjustments along the way which meant that one "S" rad may not fit another car.

I used a company in Northampton, Northampton Radiators to rebuild mine last year. No probs since, and much much cheaper than a new one. Can't recommend them highly enough.
