touch up paint

I have a huge stone chip in the middle of my bonnet, The car is a nice dark blue, I think it is Mica blue, but dont really know, how can I tell? and does any one know what the correct touch up paint is?

I've had good results from paints4u, and they have an online colour matching wizard that seems quite good at recognising paint codes. If you aren't sure, they seem pretty switched on and you can always phone them.

The nice thing about this setup is that you can buy a kit of all the materials you need to complete the repair in sensible quantities, and not just the paint itself.

The code i have on mine is Starfire mica blue PA14B
got it in a spay can

I guess mine is Starfire Mica Blue then, as there is a code on the bulkhead Identification plate stating P422-PA14B

Hi Andy,

I got a touch-up pot & aerosol spray can made up while I waited at Colourtone in Stockport, at very reasonable cost.

They are very helpful and are familiar with TVR paint codes. They also have branches in Manchester & Stafford.

Had a trip over to surface and design on Wednesday, to get them to give me a price for touching up all the stone chips and other blemishes, based on the number of slight marks all over the car, it might be prudent to invest in a full respray, once the mortgage is paid off and the kids have grown up, done Uni, and left home.

So instead I decided to spend £12 on some touch up paint from "paints4u", should arrive early next week

By the way, while I was there, I saw a very dusty Blue V8S minus its interior, and tucked away in a side office an extremely nice pair of recovered seats. Hope you get it back soon.

So what IS the procedure for touching up stone chips so that it doesn't look like a touched up stone chip.....its not for me, it's for someone I know.....honestly....

Don't know yet, but I can let you know if its successful, if not it might be going back to surface and design for a front end respray and wallet emptying procedure.
