[Grovel Mode On]

Any one got a spare ??

Mine popped out and has been trailing on the ground, it now resembles a plastic disc with 1 1/2 wires attached.

I' ve tried the place in Lancs that supplies Indicator lenses but as they do not know the bulb holder part number they cannot source them.

Help

Would that be the same as the bulb holder in the ford lights at the back? My electrics are being sorted and thats one of the components (at the back) thats being sourced/sorted... I could give you the part number if they are the same.

Front lights or rears??

Fronts are Leyland Daf and there is a part number on the alternative parts list.

The rears are standard Ford Mk3/4 Escort bulb holders and they're still available new at £7 each.

I have a DAF alternative to the deleted part (front bulb holder). It requires an O-ring to make it work, but LDV actually supplied both to me. Would you like the part number.

I will have a good look when I get home today, as I said you will need an O-ring and two small spade end connectors to make it work. Mine fits like a glove and is water tight too.

Must rememer, must remember...........

I remembered!

The part number for the bulb holder is 1626102 available from Leyland Daf Vans (LDV). It requires an O-ring to make it fit. You will need an O-ring that is just large enough to allow the bulb holder to be inserted into the lens, it can then be turned and locked tight. Mine is a tight fit and required an imperial O-ring (I can measure it if you require), but a motorfactors should be able to sort you out. The bulb holder has different connectors, so two small spade connectors are required to fit over the pins. Standard small connectors work well if you enlarge them slightly with a small screw driver. I found that the rubber boot from the old bulb holder fitted over the new one and continued to provide water resistance.

By the way, the holder is £2.32 + VAT, and a new lens #BAU2249 is £11.55.

The LDV guy was very helpful and said that NOS parts may still exist. If anyone tracks these down perhaps they should buy up the lot to keep for other S’s.
