A weekend of great weather - where did you take your S for a bit of fun?

I ended up in Bournemouth The A30 / A33 are both wonderful roads, especially the humpback near Kings Worthy where I just had to go over repeatedly at ever increasing speeds

New Forest was great too - much emptier than I was expecting and plenty of overtaking opportunities to keep things interesting

I was out and about around Herne Bay, Whitstable and Canterbury yesterday and tonight (when the sun came out), I had a blast around Ramsgate and Margate.

And of course as I spent most of this weekend in the S I didn't see any others, last weekend I was in my VW and I saw Mr Fleming in his nice dark blue. However I did see a Cerbera in Herne Bay and a Chim in Ramsgate.

I gave mine a polish today. Now it looks almost presentable... except for where three months under a cover has rubbed all the paint away :notveryhappysmiley:

Went down to the Kent Coast yesterday, not much today as I hit the exhaust and further damaged my ailing manifolds.

Chris, you should have given me a shout mate and we could have gone for a bit of a blat and a non-alcoholic pint (yuk) or nice cup of tea!

Do you still have my mobi for when you are around again?

Chris, sorry just realised that you don't have my mobile as I have gone back to my old number. I'll mail it to you shortly.

Took father to Duxford - sent him up in a Tiger Moth. He said that even at 1000ft with the engine and wind noise the Moth was quieter! I take this as a complement.

I actually did drop you a text, as it was a spur of the moment thing, but my text was "not sent."

Well - I managed not to get booked this year, an improvement on last and from an 'incident' perspective it was quiet too - just empty back roads and the roof down. Absolutely superb. Had a stag appear from the woods and cross the road just in front of me and then dissapear again on the other side which was beautiful. Other than that it was rumbling through towns and sprinting or cruising in the countryside depending on mood.

The car was supposed to have had a new engine fitted just before we went - but due to a little problem with parts, Austec were unable to do the work in time - so instead fixed up an alternative solution to stop the oil burn for a few thousand miles and improve the compression which worked very well. She sounded wonderful, particularly in the narrower streets.

Ah well - no more continental zooming till next year - but the new engine is coming very soon so that's something to look forward too

Kevin - Lovely though the New Forest is, almost all of the true 'Forest' is a strictly enforced 40mph limit these days. Whilst it used to be a great place to have a blat (and safe 'cos most of it is very flat with good visibility), during the Grock Season there is a good chance you will encounter a mobile scamera van or BiBs pointing lasers at you. Suggest being careful if you do decide to venture this way. Having said that, its still a very pleasant drive, albeit with one eye on the speedo.

We had a drive through the Forest to Beaulieu a couple of weeks ago - there are some great little country pubs along the way and the scenery is hard to beat.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it
