Leaky expansion tank (overflow)
Discussion
Hi guys, on trip out, noticed after topping up with petrol that water was leaking from underside of car ,anyway nursed the car home , with one eye on gauges .
What I have noticed that the plastic expansion tank or overflow , had a crack I'n it . This could of been caused by heat from the exhaust manifold , causing the plastic to perish or stones flicking up .
A quick temporary fix managed to take off and araldite glue it up .
Can anyone point me I'n the right direction to get a new tank I'n plastic, or even ali if poss , or as anyone got a spare for sale to fit an s2 , any advise would be appreciated .
Cheers Kie

Have a look on Ebay.

There’s some ropey MG ones on there as well which would get you on the road.

An MG metal one should do the trick, and no future problems with the exhaust.

Failing that some british leyland cars like the metro and allegro etc had a similar expansion tank.

Oddly enough I was talking to a friend on Sunday about him making both aluminium swirl pots and exansion tanks for the S
Hi Dave , those stainless parts look great . Is your friend looking at making more to sell on, if he is , i could possibly be interested , but it's all down to price , as I have to watch what I'm spending on the s , as I am on the hunt for a 2nd Tvr , which will make my misses mad , as she reckons , I got to many cars .... Anyway do us men really listen to a nagging misses?

Hi, he makes various high quality items for other models. Made something for himself, others saw it and I understand 30-40 units now sold.He is very busy so it will be a while but he's going to look at mine for a template (V8S) and see what he can do.
PM me and I'll put you in touch with each other and hopefully something will be arranged.
I've seen some things, on a Sag and Sp6 cars and they are good quality.
Dave
