what do you think about the 2.9 v6
Discussion
I have removed the body and ordered a refurbished chassis due to the dreaded rust. I need to recon the gearbox as syncro is going on 3rd gear and need to replace the clutch and think the flywheel needs a skim. my dilema is do i recon the engine as the car has done 112000 miles. it was running fine before the strip but i am wondering whether it may be as worn as the other bits?
the problem is the car is difficult to work on with the body on so this is an opportunity to do work but i dont want to spend where it is not needed. what do you think?

Have got my two engines stripped and even my high mileage one (168K) only shows any real signs of wear in the cylinders themselves and even that is a very minor "step" at the limit of ring travel. My postman (a qualified motor mechanic) looked at it when I was stripping it and his words were "looks good and clean - not even much bore wear". I'd say if the engine has been looked after and oil changed regularly 112K is nothing, therefore if it works I'd leave well alone.
