Clutch master and slave cylinder - Many thanks guys!
Discussion
Just wanted to thank all of you that offered help and advice on my many posts over the last month.
As of midnight last night, I can now select gears!
I'm no mechanic, but managed to install both on my own, If I can do it, anyone can!
I found the Master cylinder a very easy job, but the slave was a right, royal bugger.
The slave had seized solid in its full extended position, meaning I couldn't remove the
assembly as a whole. This ment removing the cylinder from the bracket.
Oh the fun I had getting the top nylock nut & bolt out, haven't talked to myself in the garage
that long for a while!
Also must put out a thank you to Paul at power track for supplying both units that fitted
correct and for being such a nice bloke. (he knows all about us on Pistonheads!)
Thanks again and look forward to giving my two pence worth of knowledge to future cylinder woes.

Slave was £45, as posted, purchased from Paul at power track. This was a cylinder made from County, Girling are no longer in business. Compared to my original girling I took off, it's exactly the same size unit and hydraulic pipe fitting, If you are changing the slave, change the master as well. They do seem to fail at the same time. When my clutch wouldn't move one day, I noticed my master cylinder was weeping, so just replaced it, only to have the same problem, turned out the slave had seized. Master was around £60. If you do decide to have a go I can post up some helpful advice. Regards, Mark
