For all the Southerners travelling up.

A34/M4 Chievley Services would probably be a good meeting point.

Ant takers...?

It's J13 of the M4 in West Berkshire, so not really between the two unless you fancy a detour!

Dave, What time?

Depending on the Traffic Jams it may be better to do the SS south of Newbury, but I guess that would be tricky for the M4 lot.

Anyone on the South Coast thinking of going and watching the Sprinters at Goodwood on the Saturday then convoying up on Sunday to Silverstone? Alternatively going and watching the LMES race at Silverstone on the Saturday and then The S meet on Sunday?

Cheers

Hi Dave

As it will be a Sunday morning then the traffic should be quiet...

Silverstone is about 55 miles from North Newbury / M4 so its reasonably central for most coming from the South / coast or the West country.....

I'm not sure what time others are arriving at Silverstone but I guess mid morning...

I would suggest meeting about 9.30-10.00 then the hours trip up there would probably be about right...

Even if I don't make it up the night before I'll probably join you there (Newbury services) on Sunday morning.

Chievely would be a good meeting place for those in the area. Easy too find and traffic is normaly ok at weekends, and Silverstone is 1 hour away.
what time are you thinking of.

Is this easy to get to with the major construction work ongoing? Are the services north or south of the M4 - northbound or southbound carriageway?

Sorry for the stupid questions!

No Problems...

It will be Sunday morning so I wouldn'e envisage there to be much traffic...

The services operate as normal. If you are travelling from the South up the A34, just drive around the Roundabout as the slip road for the services is on the southbound carriageway...

When we exit, we just follow a link back to the Roundabout and up the A34 North...

I tried an eloborate map, put it on Fotango but the link won't work...

Dave, can you please ensure our route to Silverstone avoids any areas with a high flying insect population, (or muddy roads, or puddles, or....)....

....gonna be spending a couple of hours cleaning and polishing tomorrow and want it to still be clean upon arrival!
