Door Problems! Wish I had'nt messed
Discussion
I bought the S2 about 2 months ago and I am really happy with it so far. Both doors seemed to have dropped, the driver’s side being the worst. So this is where I decided to start. Removed door trim and aluminium window support no problem. I then slackened the two fixing bolts top and bottom hinge which then allowed me to lift the door, this is where the problems started, I spent all afternoon re-positioning the door but can only seem to make it worse, it now seems to also catch on the latch on the main body when closing even though I have also tried re-positioning this also. I got to the point where I decided to leave it and re-assemble the door, after fitting the trim and attaching the latch cable the door will now not open from the inside even though the cable is thru the little hole in the latch. I noticed that at the rear of the interior door handle there is a plastic clip that holds the black protective sheath, this appears to be broken and not retaining the cable, could this be my problem. I am sorry to go on but can any body please give me some advice.
Cheers

Hi Tony
Yeah , I had a similar problem, but it was my cable that had snapped. The black plastic sheath thing was also broken on mine, so I araldited it back into position.
Repositioning of the door, helps if you have a person to hold the door rather than trying to prop it with your knee or such like.

Tony,
Are you sure that the problem is adjustment and not that the bobbins have come loose in the body.
It may be that you are trying to fix the wrong problem.
If it is only adjustment required, it is best to do this with the door open. Try adjusting it slightly too high and tighten gently. The tap down as required to get the correct height.
The opening problem may just be because the door is grabbing the catch. Try lifting and using your shoulder when you open from inside (or wait until you have adjusted correctly to see if there is actually a problem.
Adjusting doors is fun! NO!!!!
