Two days ago the switch for the front driving/fog lights on my S3C gave up. It happened when I was going to switch the driving lights off. The switch had stuck in the ON position but i forced it to the OFF postition.

Something inside the switch broke at that moment, 'cause it is now impossible to get the driving lights on again. The switch moves but it feels like it is only the plastic part of it that is moving. I imagine that there must be some metal parts inside it too, and I guess that I trashed them somehow.

I guess it had stuck because I have left it in the on position for a long time, using the light stalk by the steering wheel to switch the lights on and off (the driving lights come on when I turn on the side/parking lights with the stalk).

Has anyone experienced this before? Do you think it is possible to repair the switch or should I get a new one? I have the rectangular shaped switches (from a TR7?)

To get the switch out you will need to get the switch dash off, I've posted some details on my website here including the part numbers

Hope it helps

Thanks Colin,

That was just the information I needed.
Do you know somewhere where I can order a new switch online? I will do some googling to see if I can find a supplier here in Sweden also.

Cheers,
Johan

Seems like Rimmer Bros have them available for online-order. Part number UKC499. Could that be the correct one?

I apologise for always asking these boring questions.

I ended up ordering one from Moss since they charged a few quids less. When I get the switch delivered I'll post here again to confirm that the part number is correct.

Unfortunately, the part UKC499 was not the correct one.

It might work as a replacement, but it hasn't got the built in light and the symbols on it are different.
I'll try to phone Moss later today and see if they have the right Lucas part available.
