What are the best plug leads that you have used on a V6S.

I'd rather fit something known to be OK at the higher temperatures under the S bonnet!

I have Magnecore 8mm leads on mine. Expensive, but I made sure I got the best I could afford. From ACT. Garaunteed for 6 years or somthing like that.

I think ACT may be bringing some next weekend for the S meet.

Mail Tim Lamont at ACT, if he is there he can sort them for you...

Thanks chaps, uuuhhmm they'll go nicely with my new blue rocker covers too!

I'll also invest in a new coil as mine is old and covered in rust, could be causing some of my hesitation. Not too dear so may as well, I think Demon Tweeks do some upgraded ones ......and I think they are blue.

Chris I thought you were bringing some things from ACT, he mentioned you would be at the meet with some ACT info etc..., when I invited him???? If its not you then a representative from ACT is definitely expected there. Not sure you will be able to buy the Leads on the day but there will be samples IIRC!

Yep, that would be me bringing stuff. If there is anything people want, they can order from me on the day, or ring ACT before hand and if it is in stock I will bring it with me.

I will have the Magnecore leads and hoses on my car as well as the JP Sports system.

If there is anything specific people would like to see please mail ACT and let them know. There will also be sample for people have a look at.

So people can look at your car for the V6 bits and mine for the V8 bits as I have the JP Sports exhaust and re-worked Y Piece (so does Pies IIRC) I also have the 8.5mm Competition Magnecors from ACT too!

Hey Chris, do you have a bit of a sideline going there!
Sadly I will be busy packing this weekend and not at our S club meet. I wish I could make it ...I'll try, you never know!

So, I'm after a new coil, a set of HT/LT leads and possibly a complete set of hoses for a V6S, preferably all in blue to match my rocker covers.

Possibly a pair of stainless down pipes.

Any chance of a price for this little lot and letting me know whether it can be collected if I can get there?

Ok Kevin,

Down Pipes £58p/pr +VAT in SS
Leads £62 + VAT
Hose kit including clips £169 +VAT

ACT are not sure whether the coils they sell would be applicable to the S.

I will be bringing 3 sets of V6 leads with me this weekend.

Thanks for that Chris, although I think I may have to wait a bit for some of it! Lack of time as much as funds.

For the next 2 weeks .....I'll be mostly packing! (said in a west country accent). I've been looking forward to the S meet for ages now and was rather miffed when I realised we'd be too busy packing for our move. But you never know, we may make it but probably not in the S as the pipes are blowing and I haven't had time to sort them yet.

Slip out early in the morning telling the missus that you are going to get a paper......
How will she know all the local paershops are shut and the nearest open one is at Silverstone, if she is doing the packing

Uhhhmm - not sure she'd wear that as I never read the paper! I like the sound of that part where I'm leaving my missus with the packing tho!

Actually, I said I was going out for a test drive the other night, I don't think she realised that I hadn't done anything to the car
And I came back 2 hours later!

Downpipes blowing of course but it was still fun ....and I should have been sorting the exhaust really. Nevermind, just turn the radio up for a bit.

Thanks Chris, I appreciate your kind offer but I really need to sort out the ground clearance problem so it's a bit more long winded and I'll have to seal the pipes at the same time during re-fitting. If you can remember the type/make of sealer - that would be really helpful and I'll try and get hold of some for when I tackle the job. Be great to have it sounding nice and quiet at the front and noisy at the back again, it doesn't half make a difference to the noise of the exhaust, it's much quieter out the back now and has a sort of whine at certain revs (could be the knackered baffles I suppose). Did yours sound very different when the pipes were blowing?

They still are blowing a bit, but not too much. I don't think that it gets quieter at the back, just noiser at the front, so you get the impression of the back getting quieter.
