Reversing light switch on a V6 2.8

After removing the exhaust to change the UJ'S and waxoil underneath and then put it all back and getting ready for the road I then find that the reversing lights are not working, I tried to remove the switch from inside the car through the gear leaver hole but i cannot get a spanner onto it successfully, anybody any ideas, anybody been successful this way ? I have checked the wires and they work when they are joined together.

Sorry but i think you will have to take the exhaust off again
to get to it. all good fun

I had the same problem and the only way is to drop the exhaust ,good luck
