Where is my panel light resistor hiding?

Does anyone know where I can find the resistor to dim the panel lights, or what value the resistor should be. The dim position on my panel lights switch no longer works. Wires to and from the resistor are definitely open circuit so I assume the resistor has failed. However I have just spent 2 hours trying to find the resistor without success. Logic would suggest it would be close to the switch but the red & black and red & blue wires to and from the resistor disappear into the loom and I cant find where they emerge again. I am beginning to suspect that TVR have taped over the resistor when taping up the harness, but that wouldn’t make any sense would it?. Can anyone give me a clue where to find it. I don’t want to start stripping the tape off the harness at random so alternatively can any one tell me the ohms and amperage of the resistor and I will cut the wires close to the switch and solder in a new one. Any advice gratefully received. It is possible this has been asked before, in which case I appologise, but search is still not working and google just throws up random rubbish.

On an S3 it is down on the bulkhead in the engine bay, driver's side, just above the gearbox bell housing. In fact, TVR generally used 2 wire-wound resistors in parallel, but you can get a suitable single wire-wound from RS. I found a 2.7 ohm 50w resistor to be about right. In fact 50w was a bit over the top and probably 25w would be fine.

The other mounting position I have seen is right down inside the wheel well mounted on the chassis outrigger, where they get very corroded.

I relocated mine on to the bracket which holds the brake bias valve.

Thank you gentlemen, very much appreciated. I would have been looking for a month of Sundays before I thought of looking there. I had assumed it would be inside the car but I suppose it makes some sort of sense to put it outside as it presumably gets quite hot. I really should learn to consult the wisdom of the forum BEFORE I spend a couple of hours upside down in the passenger footwell. This must be the most helpful site on t'interweb thingy.
